Samsung foldable phones under the Galaxy Z series have started receiving a new update that adds some camera features from the recently released Galaxy S22 smartphone. The South Korean tech giant will add these features for both Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3. However, the new update will not carry the June security patch. The Galaxy Z series smartphones are expected to get four major Android upgrades that include — Android 12, Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15. The company has also promised at least five years of security updates for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Currently, Samsung’s latest clamshell foldable phone runs on the stable version of Android 12. The foldable device is likely to get Android 13 by December 2022 or January 2023.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 new update
Samsung has already started rolling out the new update that adds new camera features to the foldable device. The over-the-air (OTA) update weighs 1.1GB in size and comes with firmware version F711BXXU2CVEB.
The latest update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone adds several new features that include — an auto framing feature in video recording mode which will help in auto picture adjustment in video calling apps. The latest update has also enhanced the low light portrait mode algorithm and will allow owners to use the telephoto lens in Pro mode. Moreover, users will also be able to use Samsung’s optimisations and effects in social media apps with this new update.
How to install the update
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 users will either get a notification requesting them to download and install the new update or they can manually search for it. To check the update manually, users have to go to the settings app and then select the Software update option. Here, users can download and install the new update.
